How to read this chart
Your birth chart (janma kuṇḍalī) is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment you were born.
Lagna (ascending sign): The foundation. It shapes your physical constitution, temperament, and how you approach life. Everything else is read relative to this.
Grahas (planets): Nine celestial bodies, each representing a dimension of experience. Sūrya (Sun) is the soul, Candra (Moon) the mind, Maṅgala (Mars) action, Budha (Mercury) intellect, Guru (Jupiter) wisdom, Śukra (Venus) pleasure, Śani (Saturn) discipline, Rāhu and Ketu the eclipse nodes.
Bhāvas (houses): Twelve areas of life. The 1st is self, the 7th partnerships, the 10th career. A planet in a house activates that area.
Daśā (planetary periods): Vimśottarī, the 120-year system where each planet rules a major period (mahādaśā) divided into sub-periods (antardaśā). Your current daśā tells you which planet's themes are active NOW.
Yogas: Special planetary combinations that modify the chart's expression. A Rāja Yoga elevates, a Kemadruma challenges — but nothing is deterministic. Classical Jyotiṣa describes tendencies, not fate.
